Monday flowers

Foto: Minna Mercke Schmidt

It's so grey and dark outside. Collected a bouquet from the last flowers from the garden. We're not outside anyhow, better to get the flowers in so we can admire them all day long. At night I take them on the pation, hoping they last a bit longer.

Marvellous Monday to you all! Hope you like my new "top". Technique and Minna don't go that well together, it has taken me hours to figure out how to come so far...

Lets get creative...

Foto: Jakob Valling

One of these days I'll try do one of these. Isn't it marvellous, so simple, yet so decorative?! It definetely helps that Jakob Valling has taken the picture, he is one of my favourite photographers at the moment. You can see more of his pictures here.
Being kreative rules!

Leftovers

This might be the very last bouquet from our vegetable garden this year! Marigold, dill and lettuce. The wonderful vase if from Jeanette's Flea Market a couple weeks ago.

Go out and check your gardens - it's weekend and definetely time to prim your kitchen table.

Enjoy...life!

Win a wreath-kit!

Again - I can't thank you enough for your mails and comments. It's been overwhelming to read your letters to me. It has made me realize that this blog really is doing what it was aimed to do - inspire!!! And that has helped me to decide one thing - I'll open my blog for you and your beautiful creations. Once a week I'll have a "visitors day" showing your work, linking to your pages and maybe even making interviews.

So, start sending those images! Write also your blogadress if you have one and a little bit of yourselves (where you're from, when and how your interest in flowers started, favourite material etc).

In order to spead the word I'll throw a lottery. The price is a complete wreath-kit with straw wreath base, steel wires and material to decorate with!

Here is how to participate:

Bloggers - Link to this lottery by using the image above and some text for example "Share the Beauty. Win a price. Click on the image above." or "Dela det vackra. Vinn ett pris. Klicka på bilden ovan." or the same thing on the language your readers understand : ) Leave a comment/mail me here after linking.

Non-bloggers - leave a comment/mail me about which of my recents postings has inspired you the most.

I'll draw the winner 16th of October. Good luck everybody!

Vitamin Wreath

Found this vitamin bomb when I was cleaning my archives. I think it's so challenging to try to make something out of what I already have around the house and garden. Buying lots of expensive materials just isn't my cup of tea (but yes I have to admit that even I go sometimes grazy in my local flowershop...)
This wreath was made for an excibition where I was demonstrating the secrets of making floral decorations in my way for couple years ago : )
By the way, have you smelled the (dry) fallen leaves - my favorite at the moment!
Hugs, Minna : )

Thank you!

Thank you so much for all your comments, thoughts and ideas! I've received a lots of privat mail as well, this particular subject has really put you thinking.

Changes aren't popular, I know that, but in order to develop new ways and things it is sometimes necessary. That's what I think anyway : ) So something is going to happen - exactly what...even I don't know that yet.

One thing I know already is that I'm not going to have courses this year. Having a family like mine does not go well together with evening and weekend courses. And you are so many out there who can't participate anyhow. I don't want to exclude anyone and I promise to keep inspiring you one way or another.

And for the curious I can tell that working as a photographer/stylist so far is a bit frustrating!!! Have so many ideas and places to visit - but they have to wait, have house full of ill kids. (My husband is away (hunting moose in Finland), but my dear mom is here (from Finland) helping me out. Managed to get some work done, thanks to mom!)

Wonderful weeked to you all and that you again taking time to help me out, you're the best!

p.s. The decoration above is made out of fallen leaves and pears.
