My dearest Grandpa

My dear Grandpa passed away this summer. He had a good long life and is sure happy to be together with his wonderful wife, my Grandma, again. I have such a wonderful memories about my loving grandparents and I'm so grateful to have had them in my life.
For his funeral I made this heart shaped decoration. Wanted to create something that would last for a long time and this definetely will. My Grandpa lived on the country side and loved nature - so I'm convinced that he is happy with my choice of materials.
I made the heart out of steel netting that I filled with straw. I cut the netting in a shape of heart (x2) and then worked with the form with my hands untill I was happy. Remember glowes! I used moss for the up-side and waxpaper for the down-side (see below).
First I tied down the moss with wire and then with pieces of some thicker steel wire bent to U's, I nailed on the waxpaper.
The Elderberries and acorns were attached with the same technique.

Sorry that I don't have more pictures while making the decoration. I'll write to Santa again that I still need more hours for my days : )))
Remember to visit, hug and listen to those that have lived longer than you! Old people telling about their lives is million times better than watching cheap tv-series!
Yours truly,
Minna : )

Crazy about hair!

I love beeing creative with flowers, my dear friend AnnaKarin is crazy about hair! She has had the most exciting and succesful hair stylist career travelling around the world for many years. Now she's back home. If you want to get the same treatment as Madonna, David Beckham, Minna Mercke Schmidt, Naomi Cambell and many many more you can book an appointment to a Malmö-based salong where she works.

You can read & see more about her work here. I guarantee, she'll make your hair look good - and what's most important - she'll make you look and feel good!!!!

Hugs,
Minna : )

Concratulations Sussie!

NrTwo and NrFour share the third place (9 votes each).
Two of you liked Nr Six and one Nr Five.

Wanted to show you how much you can do by changing the pot. The arrangement is made in the little metall pot (top image) that I've moved around. Material dried roses and oh god, I still don't know what fläder is in English (can somebody help me out, pleeeease). Well, the raw berries of fläder : ) and wet oasis on the bottom.
(Thank you M/Whita Villan, the word I was looking for is Elderflower)

Vote for your favourite and you can win a print of the image below in handmade frame (picture will be shown shortly).

The winner will be announced on Wednesday 27th of August at noon.
Best of luck and a big hug!

Greenroom under construction

Dearest Friends! It's good to back in bloggland! I've had the most wonderful vacation together with friends and family. It was soooo good to spend time with my dear sister (who lives in Australia - haven't seen her for two years), her husband and Elmer's little cousin who was born in December. And our parents of course. And good old friends in Finland. It's been cosy yet bit lively : ))) Being back to normal routines isn't bad at all..

I've been dreaming of a new green house for a long time now and as you can see the project has started. My superhandy and supernice brother in law took down the old one and after a couple of days he had built a new frame and put in old windows that I've been saving (my dear husband wanted to throw them away...) for this purpose. The glas is old and you can see the texture in one of the close ups.

Lots of workhours remains before the green house is ready - and I'm looking forward to every minute of it!

As I said, it's good to be back, I've missed you!

Love, Minna : )
