Just a quick hello from France. Visiting Laeriss and having time of my life! It's so fantastic here - Laeriss and her family and all the other people, the houses, the view, the smells, the markets, the brocantees (fleamarket), the flowers, the food... Just lovely!

Wanted!

Om tre veckor ska jag ut på äventyr! Till Frankrike, till Laeriss med bloggen Heart In Provence. Visst är det häftigt med bloggen?! Helt plötsligt har man vänneröver hela jordklotet.
Ja, men till saken, Laeriss hade sett dessa skor och är helt vild - jag ser något märke där vid hälen, men kan inteläsa vad det står. Kan någon tipsa var jag kan köpa dem att ta med till henne. Tusen tusen tusen tack!

Hej mina vänner!!! Upptäckte att det var två veckor sen jag gjorde ett inlägg - hjälp, vart tog alla dagarna vägen... ledsen att ni har vänta på uppdateringar! Har varit minst sagt aktiv - fast inte i bloggsfären, vårluften är som en drog o jag vill bara ut nu när det är så fint.

Igår kväll spenderade jag flera timmar på ett gammalt övergivet kolonilottområde som ska bli parkeringshus. Jag nästan grät när jag såg på alla gigantiska syrenbuskar, rosor o gamla fina träd som kommer att mejas ned. Räddade undan en bilful kvarlämnade växter. Gamla ägarna har tagit vara deras dyrbarheter, men det fanns kvar massor av tulpaner, pärlhyacinter, scillor, anemoner, hyacinter, vallmo, julrosor, lavendel, isop, o annat som jag inte riktigt vet vad det är. Det får vi se om de överlever hos oss :) Är glad att några av växterna får fortsätta att leva här, älskar saker & ting med historia!

Hello my dear friends! Sorry that you haven't been updated for awhile. I just want to spend every minute outdoors now when spring is here...

Yesterday I had a wonderful but sad evening in an old allottment area that they're taking down and building a parking house insteadt. I almost cried watching the old roses, threes and bushes that are too big to move - and will soon be gone. The owners of allotments have taken what they can, but the area was filled with so many beutiful plants left behind. I filled my car and hope that they will like it here at our place insteadt. I love when plants and things have a story to tell. Lots of gardening work this weekend for me :)

Borta underbart, hemma härligt! Bergen var fantastisk, sällskapet var fantastisk, farmor som tog hand om barn, hundar & huset är fantastisk. Kort sagt - drömhelg!

Har gjort reklam för min absoluta favorit tidning Isabellas förr, men nu har de även en kanon hemsida där man kan hitta tips för en vacker vardag! Surfa alltså hit. Fina framsidor har de också, den nyaste av mig :)

Nu är det vår här. Underbart! Det kliar i mina ljusgröna fingrar och i hjärnan...vill göra så fint och prunkande o vackert i trädgården. Men jag kan inte, hinner inte - behöver hjälp. Tar tacksam emot tips om duktiga trädgårdsdesigners som gör även det tunga jobbet. Bor i mitten av Skåne...

Utmärkelser * Awards

Jag skäms och har haft så enormt dålig samvete för alla fina utmärkelser som ni har tilldelat mig under åren. Har inte riktigt vetat vad jag skulle göra med dem, och vet det fortfarande inte. Men nu får jag ju alla fall tacka för dem. Ordentligt. För de har betytt väldigt mycket för mig, men jag har varit usel på att visa min uppskatting... tänk att ens blogg är så uppskattad att någon tar dig tid och delar ut en utmärkelse. Och ingen reaktion från mig - jag skulle bli... ledsen i alla fall. Det har bara varit så mycket annat, och när man inte nämner det ena så kan man ju inte säga ngt om en annan heller. Ja, ni fattar...det ska vara rättvist... Men..

Tack alla som har uppmärksammat min blogg på ngt vis, jag har noterat det och absolut glatt mig och känt stolthet att blivit valt bland alla dessa hundra(tusen)tals finfina bloggar. Varendaste gång.

I'm ashamed and have been for a long time for not thanking public for all the awards I'vereceived from you during my blogging years. I really appreciate every and each of them, but haven't had the time to make posts of them.. and once you haven't mentioned one, you can't mention the anothers.... I'm proud of them and cherish them all, thank you dearly for awarding my blog among hundreds (thousands)of fantastic blogs out there! Thank you!

Internationell dröm * International dream

Jag älskar mitt jobb!!! Här ett hörn från gårdagens hyacint session som jag hoppades skulle vara för evigt (eller några fler timmar i alla fall). För övrigt kan ni hitta mina bilder i senaste svenska Lantliv, danska Isabellas och finska Kotipuutarha. Är man internationell så är man, både professionellt och privat, he he - jag är finsk, min man är dansk och vi bor i Sverige med våra blandrasbarn och hundar :)

I love my job!!! Here's a corner from yesterdays hyacint photo session which I hoped would last for ever (well, couple more hours anyway) At he moment you can find my images in Swedish Lantliv, Danish Isabellas and Finnish Kotipuutarha. I'm internationell both professionally and in privat, ha ha - I'm Finnish, my husband Danish, we live in Sweden with our mixed race kids and dogs :)

Tack för alla uppmuntrande ord mitt i min kaosartade leverne! De jobbiga dagarna ska väl upplevas också för att man ska uppskatta allt det bra, som friska barn och solsken - jag har det hela! Härligt, härligt, härligt! Det ska jag minsann fira med skitiga händer och kall näsa (= ska ute till verkstaden och avsluta hyacint-reportaget som jag jobbat på läääänge nu). Ses mina vänner - ha en underbar helg!

Thank you for all the comforting words in the middle of my chaos! I guess you have to have some rough days in order to appreciate the good things in life, as healthy kids and sunshine - which I have at the moment! Lovely, lovely, lovely! I'm going to celebrate it with dirty hands and cold nose (= going out to my flowershop and finish the hyacint-feature I've been working for quite a long time now). Men denna hyasintbukett vill jag dela min glädje och önska trevlig torsdag till alla! Jag fyllde 40 igår och fick en världens mest fantastiska överaskningsfest med mina allra käraste. Ni vet, från total deppighet "ingen bryr sig" till sprudlande lycka med glädjetårar. Ååååh vilken underbar familj jag har! Tack för att ni finns! Och specialtack till min bästaste man som organiserade det hela!!!

I wish you a pleasent thursday together with this bouquett of hyasinths! I turned 40 yesterday and got the best surprise party with my loved ones. You know from "nobody cares" to tiers of happiness... What a fantastic family I've got! Thank you for being there! A special special special thank you to my most wonderful husband who organized the whole thing!

Vackra hortensior i fotostudion. Har köpt dessa på min senaste Köpenhamnsbesök fem veckor sen, och de har faktiskt hunnit torka redan, men de underbara färgerna är kvar. Låga bordsarrangemanget gjorde jag till vår jaktmiddag, de höga är vackra som de är.

Hydrangea in my photostudio. Bought these on my latest visit to Copenhagen five weeks ago. They have dried already, but the lovely colours are still there (I've kept them away from sunlight). I did the low tablearangement for our hunting dinner.

Not that advanced really :) I love daylight and that is what decides very much how my days are like at the moment :) Rain and stormy weather is not my favourite as you can guess.

Isabellas

Jap, de är lika trevliga som de ser ut! De är också fantastiskt duktiga. Tack vare Helle (bak), Anita och resten av redaktionen får vi läsa och inspireras av den underbara danska tidningen Isabellas. Mitt första möte med tidningen fem år sedan var en omvälvande upplevelse; jag hade aldrig sett så vackra och inspirerande bilder. Beställde alla gamla nummer med en gång och njuter av dem än!

Och kan ni tänka er, där satt jag igår. På riktigt. Pratade om att jag skulle göra jobb till dem. (De vet det inte än, men jag ska nog fråga om inte jag får prao:a hos dem ett par dagar också, att göra tidning verkar så kul! ) Ska dock börja med att ta lite bilder till dem först. Vilken ära!

På tal om mina bilder, kolla Country Living (US) i december, ni kommer nog känna igen en krans eller två :)

Efter mötet tog jag en runda på stan... ingen liten en kan jag säga. Såg ut som packåsna med mina blommor, korgar och alla möjliga små fynd. Batteriet på kameran höll tyvärr inte hela dan. Men lite hann jag ta, visas inom kort. Jag bara älskar Köpenhamn!

Yesterday I had a meeting with the most wonderful women who make the most wonderful magazine Isabellas. I fell for Isabellas fantastic photos many years ago and I've been a fan since. And think, there I was, talking about taking pictures for them. What an honour! Since talking about pictures, check out the December issue of Country Living (US). Minna's wreaths have made it all the way to America :)

Again - I can't thank you enough for your mails and comments. It's been overwhelming to read your letters to me. It has made me realize that this blog really is doing what it was aimed to do - inspire!!! And that has helped me to decide one thing - I'll open my blog for you and your beautiful creations. Once a week I'll have a "visitors day" showing your work, linking to your pages and maybe even making interviews.

Thank you so much for all your comments, thoughts and ideas! I've received a lots of privat mail as well, this particular subject has really put you thinking.

Changes aren't popular, I know that, but in order to develop new ways and things it is sometimes necessary. That's what I think anyway : ) So something is going to happen - exactly what...even I don't know that yet.

One thing I know already is that I'm not going to have courses this year. Having a family like mine does not go well together with evening and weekend courses. And you are so many out there who can't participate anyhow. I don't want to exclude anyone and I promise to keep inspiring you one way or another.

And for the curious I can tell that working as a photographer/stylist so far is a bit frustrating!!! Have so many ideas and places to visit - but they have to wait, have house full of ill kids. (My husband is away (hunting moose in Finland), but my dear mom is here (from Finland) helping me out. Managed to get some work done, thanks to mom!)

Wonderful weeked to you all and that you again taking time to help me out, you're the best!

I might be dreaming...

...but I certainly hope I'm not. Let me tell you why...


I have had my own company for couple of years now - just as my hobby giving seasonal courses in wreath- and flowerarrangement-making. My ordinary jobb has been selling accounting sofware, a nice easy jobb after many years in advertisement business.


I went back to work after maternity leava about a month ago and it just didn't feel right. Sitting in a office all day, wasting my valuable time! Having a big family and husband that travels a lot in his work wasn't the perfect combo either. What I knew was that I just had to forget the flower business -there was no time.

My travelling husband is also the most wonderful husband - he promised all his support if I wanted to focus on Blomsterverkstad-business and make it grow. And you know what, I quit last week! Today my title is fotographer/stylist/flower decorator/writer. Nothing else. Well maybe accountant, pr-person, marketing-person, cleaning lady, computerpro, strategical planner, delivery girl as well.. but I'm definetely loving what I'm doing.

This my friend means that I have more time for you!!! New ideas, lots of how-to pictures and descriptions, introducing other flower decorators, telling about events, books, magazines, running competitions, and again, showing lots and lots of inspiring ideas for decorating your home and garden. There is only one but - and that is money. Since there is no monthly pay check I have to start finding ways to pay my bills. I read somewhere that you shouldn't be afraid to talk to your "customers" and ask for their opinion. So that's what I'll do.

1. Blog Blomsterverkstad has to announce less postings since the author is buzy working for magazines.
2. Blog Blomsterverkstad goes Club Blomsterverkstad and will be bigger, better and updated five times a week, text in swedish and english. Members only, monthly fee (apprx 3 E, 28 kr, 4 $ /paid for 6 months in advance).
3. Blog Blomsterverkstad (the bigger, better and often updated one) will receive donations from it's readers via PayPal and the page is alive as long as you feel it's worth it.
4. Blog Blomsterverkstad should close down immediately since the author is getting bigheade, greedy and has totally missed the point in blogging.

Kära vänner!

Jag har sagt upp mig från mitt bokföringsprogramsäljarjobb och ska jobba bara med Blomsterverkstad!!! Fr o m idag är jag fotograf/stylist/blomsterkreatör/föredragshållare (samt allt det andra som en egenföretagare är ) på heltid.

Har alltså mer tid, men inga pengar. Har läst att vi inte ska vara rädda för att kommunicera med dem som man vill göra affärer med. Därför frågar jag er vilket av följande alternativ skulle ni välja:

1. Bloggen Blomsterverkstad finns kvar - med färre inlägg. Minna gör & fotograferar fortfarande blommor, men måste sälja bilderna till tidningarna.
2. Bloggen Blomsterverkstad görs om till Clubb Blomsterverkstad. Massor med idéer, inspiration, instruktioner med bilder, tips, nyheter, intervjuer med andra blomsterentusiaster från hela världen. Nya inlägg fem gånger/vecka, text på svenska och engelska. Månadskostnad ca 28kr/månad, debiteras halvårsvis).
3. Bloggen har innehåll som ovan, läsarna donerar frivilligt och sidan lever så länge ni tycker den är värd att hålla vid liv.
4. Bloggen ska stängas ned genast eftersom författarinnan har fått storhetsvansinne och blivit girig. Hon måste ha missuppfattat poängen med bloggandet helt o hållet.

Jag hade verkligen uppskattat läsa era reaktioner, snälla, tycka till och lämna en kommentar. Alla dessa strategiska beslut ni vet, jag vill ju göra ngt som uppskattas, inte sånt som jag tror uppskattas. Vill du maila mig personligen kan du göra det här.

Privet, stiff sticks and (soontobetold) juicy details

Privet (liguster in swedish) is quite similar to elderberries. It works better in bouquettes and arrangements since it has a stiff stick.

(stiff stick...oh my lord.. sometimes I wonder if you're laughing away when reading my postings...my english has gotten really bad and I have to look up words from tyda.se all the time... well, have fun, ask if you don't understand).

I've been meaning to do something with these beauties I nicked from a park close to my childrens school, but haven't got anything to show yet. And now when I look at the picture - I don't think I want to do anything, they make a lovely bouquette alone!

Tomorrow will be a special day for me...and Monday will be even more special! Come back for the juicy details :)

My dearest Grandpa

My dear Grandpa passed away this summer. He had a good long life and is sure happy to be together with his wonderful wife, my Grandma, again. I have such a wonderful memories about my loving grandparents and I'm so grateful to have had them in my life.

For his funeral I made this heart shaped decoration. Wanted to create something that would last for a long time and this definetely will. My Grandpa lived on the country side and loved nature - so I'm convinced that he is happy with my choice of materials.

I made the heart out of steel netting that I filled with straw. I cut the netting in a shape of heart (x2) and then worked with the form with my hands untill I was happy. Remember glowes! I used moss for the up-side and waxpaper for the down-side (see below).

First I tied down the moss with wire and then with pieces of some thicker steel wire bent to U's, I nailed on the waxpaper.

The Elderberries and acorns were attached with the same technique.

Sorry that I don't have more pictures while making the decoration. I'll write to Santa again that I still need more hours for my days : )))

Remember to visit, hug and listen to those that have lived longer than you! Old people telling about their lives is million times better than watching cheap tv-series!
